Popular Post SussexBoi
Here in England the BBC have been running a series called TABOO, based in London during 1814, the scenes around the London docks will give a good depiction would give you a good idea what life would have been like for Thomas and Snot. It has been shown in the US as well, it well worth a look if you can find it on the internet, If you are outside the UK maybe find a proxy server so you can kid the BBC internet Iplayer that you are in the UK . Following the story line it smacks of a Arthur story with many question marks of the future and some red herrings. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b088s45m dtm180, Al Norris, Tinker Taylor Soldier I and 2 others

Jay
We see now Thomas has even more coin than he thought. I took note he did not want to know how much he had. He was still thinking of his men. Now we see Samosa. He is surely going to pay for his remarks to Thomas. Samosa's actions on his way back to his camp must have upset Thomas. Thomas even with the care he takes with his men has pushed them. Now we will see Samosa rule the day he came after poor Thomas and his boys. A wonderful chapter, can hardly wate to see what happens. militarypress
Yes Jay..but what a storyline....Thomas has become more like a Sheriff (yet again), chasing the monster Samosa......When they turn this story into a thriller movie and need a bunch of extra's.....I want the part of being one of Thomas's army of deputies.........I hope they get that fuck. Sircody
I feel like Thomas fighting Samosa will make the people of the north see Thomas once again as there saver and will help him in anyway possible. I just hope we don't lose any good men because of samosa eevilness. dtm180, Al Norris and militarypress
Popular Post James FitzHugh
I am a newcomer to this Forum but I have followed this story from it's beginning. The beauty of the story is in closeness to reality. If one were to watch the film on "Napoleon" one can clearly see how terrible these battles were. Men were simply pawns and fodder to be disposed of and disposed of they were. Guerrilla warfare was not a new phenomena even in this period. Although the story of EL TORO brings organized guerrilla warfare to a whole new level. As we see with El Toro's Army it is well organized and well trained along military lines. However, when we look at Samoso's band, it is just that a band over which there is a leader who, in Chapter 13, simply takes out 5 men and shoots them as an example rather than as the cause. The British Army of the time was "Peer" driven with the buying of officerships and very little, if any, promotion by merit. Under this method of army leadership there were often cases of atrocious leadership as we saw in the chapter describing the leadership of General Beresford. This "superior attitude" by the British Officers most of whom held or were in-waiting for their titles, actually led to our Thomas distancing himself from the British Military. Yet, the Viscount Wellington knows his worth and his value to the war effort. It was really sad to read of his pitiful offer when they met at the Ball. As someone wrote earlier, this story is a masterpiece for which one waits with baited breath for the next chapter. bobs1244, Al Norris, dtm180 and 5 others

I enjoy this forum because our fellow readers share interesting perspectives. Even though we read the same words, lots of times I've read a post here and thought... "Hmm... I didn't think of it that way." Or, "I totally missed that!" And... sometimes Sir Arthur chimes in and smacks us around with a red herring to make sure we 're all still awake and on our toes! Fun place. Good guys. All cheering for young Thomas. bobs1244, dtm180, Al Norris and 1 other

Popular Post Arthur
Tinker, I promise there are no red herrings in the next chapter BUT; blood and guts abound, thank you all for the kind and positive entries and the seven hundred men and boys that follow Thomas also thank you (insert deviation to story here) The last red herring will be seen in chapter 15 (or 16 or 17 or all of the above) Sircody, Al Norris, Tinker Taylor Soldier I and 4 others

Popular Post Jay
Once again we see Thomas trying to lead the charge, but his friends pulling him back for his safty. His body ratteled with pains he still pushes foreward. He calls for a general meeting to let all his men have a say in their fate. That shows respect and the careing he has for them all. Winter may have slowed his little army down, but fare from being out of the game. I look foreward to seeing what they come up with. dtm180
Thomas and his army have worked hard, and now they have been sidetracked to clear away a bandito. The fact that Thomas's friends keep him in a safe place shows how much they care about him, and why should they not. Thomas has made it clear by his actions more than his words that he care's about his men and what happens to them. Winter is in and although the sky cleared up at the end of this chapter, do not be sure that this is a good thing. Clear skies in winter more often than not mean frost is about to make his appearance. I look forward to reading more of Thomas's adventure. Popular Post WolfLover
You guys are so Lucky! Because of my location (Germany) I don't get the story until Friday, unless I stay up 'till 1-2am to read it. lol But it makes Friday mornings enjoyable. I am new to this forum but not to Arthur's works. Normally I reach him through another site but this one is much more active. Needless to say, I love this story. But there are a couple of things that I have noticed and I wonder if Arthur is leaving a huge Red Herring! Has anyone else noticed that some major players in the Scouting and general mayhem world have been missing lately? It is very unusual for them not to have shown up before now. Not even to get in touch while Thomas was recovering. I hope all is well on that front. I also likes the reference to the fact that years later Thomas would have drinks with a certain member of the House of Lords. At least we know that he does have a long future. As others have said, the idea of the King returning is not a good thing and maybe in Arthur's version of Spain, things will be different. Can't wait till next week. I live in Japan how you think i feel i have to wait until Friday at 9 am to read it every week lol Honestly it one of the things that get me threw the week and what i look forward to all week. Another great chapter as always I think it would be interesting if Thomas ran into his first commander again and show him how far he came maybe even run into Carmelo step father would be interesting haven't heard from him in along while mostly after he taught Thomas so much. Arthur
Mind readers can be so hard to fool, why do you think I like herrings in tomato sauce (ketchup)? Alas I cannot continue to mislead you all so I will give you a hint as to the contents of the next chapter so you can set your worries aside. Once again, Google quickly helped me solve a translation problem... I discovered "geegee" is most likely a reference to a horse. Now I'll recall "geegee" every time I see one. Thanks for another great chapter, Arthur. Like everyone here, I'm anxious to see more... and damn glad I don't live in Germany or Japan... well... in this regard, anyway... otherwise, I'm sure they'd be splendid places to live. Al Norris
As it often happens, Real Life® has reared it's ugly head. One thing or another has conspired to take up Arthur's time, to the point that chapter 15 is not yet done. As soon as he completes the chapter and sends it to me, we will be posting it. dtm180, militarypress and Parker
