  1. Great reads, thanks to all the authors. In the end I had to go with story #8. Can't wait to see who wrote them!
  2. Hey Hunter, Yeah, I read all the Halloween stories and cast my vote. It was quite difficult, they were all great works, but in the end I had to choose a favorite! Yes, I know you're on a break, and I can understand why. I'm just thankful for all you've put out so far. I'll be eagerly awaiting that time when you publish another great story! For now, I'm exploring the works of other authors on this site, and I'm finding some great ones!
  3. Read all 4 chapters last night, absolutely loving it! I can't wait for chapter 5!
  4. Wow, these stories were very fun to read. Great stories, all of them! A big thanks to all the authors for all your hard work. It was very difficult to choose a favorite. After reading all of them, I had it narrowed down to 3 choices, and it took me a while to finally choose. In the end, I had to go with story #8. Though each submission was a great read, it seemed that I was most easily absorbed by #8. Again, thanks to all the authors, I very much appreciate your work! -Melodies
  5. Issues is a Post-hardcore/metalcore band from Atlanta, Georgia. I've been following them since they formed, mainly because the two vocalists used to be in another one of my favorite bands. This song and music video speak volumes to me. A lot of the video is about a gay man finally coming out to his father, receiving a negative reaction, and finding comfort in the arms of his love. I struggled a LOT with coming out, I stayed "in the closet" for about 7 years. Though I was lucky enough to have a positive reaction from my mother, the tragedy is that many gay men and teens still live in fear of their families and friends learning that they are gay. I find that many people tend to assume that this style of music is almost always angry and negative. This is far from the truth, many of today's metalcore songs are filled with passionate, emotional and positive messages. This song is about staying true to who you are and being yourself. It is one of my current favorite songs. If this song has a positive impact on even one person, then my work here is done. =) Enjoy! -Melodies
  6. Hello everyone! I just joined up on the forum, figured I'd introduce myself to everyone. I am a 23 year old gay man from Southern California. My username, Melodies, is in reference to my intense love and passion for music. I am passionate about pretty much all forms of music, and I'll listen to just about anything, but my main genres are newer style metalcore, hardcore, post-hardcore, etc. I can share and talk about music all day, I never tire of it. =) I was introduced to Castle Roland through Hunter. I found his stories on Nifty and I was taken aback by all of them. I've read a lot of these types of stories over the past few years, and I must say, his stories are my favorites. His writing style is full of complex character development and rich plot lines, and his stories are easy for me to just get lost in. I'm always excited for a new chapter of his work. Hunter, if you see this post, I can't thank you enough for all the work you put in to provide me with these fantastic stories. They are among some of the most powerful I've ever read. Anyway, there's a little bit about myself and how I ended up here! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you! -Melodies
