  1. OMG! I just remembered that there is STILL an unanswered question aka Red Herring! Who is the Prince's spy in the camp??? Did I miss this?? This calls for an EPILOGUE.
  2. I knew, we all knew, it was coming but that did not stop the tears this morning (German time) when I read those two words 'The End'. I have truly enjoyed the DB journey with all it ups and downs, friendships, adventure, betrayal and togetherness that was El Toro's family. What I would love to see (hint, hint) would be a holiday short story bringing Grey and O'Rourke home and meeting the family. Earlier you said that you had five stories in the wings. Can't wait to see what they are. Thank you for the journey.
  3. I am sooo glad to see another chapter. I love this story. They guys will definitely make that magic number of 44. Thanks Kyle.
  4. I agree with all the above. Great chapter. You can fee the excitement of Thomas' brother 'leading' the horse! The only thing missing was certain rangers but they probably weren't allowed to come. I too was glad to see the promising TBC at the end. Jay just a note- you wrote tail but I think you meant tale.
  5. The reading gods favored us who live overseas! The chapter posted early so I was able to go to sleep smiling, happy with the knowledge that Scully was back!! With the happiness comes the shiver-just what are the guys up to with the last parade that they need Thomas out of the way for several days? And who exactly is coming? (Did you notice that even toward the end, Arthur tosses out a RH!) I love the idea of the house on the bay. It puts Thomas close to those who love him and allows him to take off for adventures if he wants too.
  6. Dear Dear Arthur, You know that I am one of your original fans from back in the Elios days and I send you hugs from Germany. But dear Arthur this is too much! THREE herrings!!! 3!!!! in this chapter. My heart can't handle more than one per chapter. lol As I see it the following herrings were left out there for us. 1. Where is Snot and did he stay attached to the British. 2. What is in the wagons that Thomas gathered. And finally, 3.What is going to happen to Thomas and his men now that the end is in sight. Sigh, whine (or is that wine?) do we have to wait for another week?
  7. I just found his stories again and jumped over to his web site. I was very sad to see that he was terminally ill. Does anyone now when he died?
  8. This story is why Kyle is one of my favorite authors. Wonderful story-it had me sniffling in a good way. Thank you for posting it.
  9. I have just started this story and I like what I have read so far and look forward to the next chapter.
  10. I agree with Tinker, I hope that Snot and his men make it back safely. I have a feeling that in a pinch Snot et al will melt away if pushed too hard. On the thought of payroll, I thought that the payroll would be coming from Oporto along with supplies. Dear Arthur, I did not like the (to me) foreshadowing of trouble for Col. Grey. I am hoping that his comment " Whatever happens in the future, I want you to remember that there is nothing that will ever change my opinion of you and I will go to my grave just as proud as I am today." is just a fathers love for his son and not a farewell speech. Between the Prince and Grey, Thomas is well informed of the possible problem areas and ways to get around them. Another good chapter. Thank you
  11. I agree on the track information. But I think the saving grace is Russia. At this point, the French do not have the manpower to chase ghosts. They are more concerned with concentrating their forces for the coming battle as well as basic survival. They may be so low on reinforcements, that expending manpower to chase across the countryside may be beyond their capabilities.
  12. You guys are so Lucky! Because of my location (Germany) I don't get the story until Friday, unless I stay up 'till 1-2am to read it. lol But it makes Friday mornings enjoyable. I am new to this forum but not to Arthur's works. Normally I reach him through another site but this one is much more active. Needless to say, I love this story. But there are a couple of things that I have noticed and I wonder if Arthur is leaving a huge Red Herring! Has anyone else noticed that some major players in the Scouting and general mayhem world have been missing lately? It is very unusual for them not to have shown up before now. Not even to get in touch while Thomas was recovering. I hope all is well on that front. I also likes the reference to the fact that years later Thomas would have drinks with a certain member of the House of Lords. At least we know that he does have a long future. As others have said, the idea of the King returning is not a good thing and maybe in Arthur's version of Spain, things will be different. Can't wait till next week.
  13. I must have misread this chapter! Did you really kill off Adam?????
  14. I am so glad to see this story active again. Can't wait till we get to chapter 21
  15. I know that Sequoyah has been ill. The complete story(63 chapters) can be found on his site as well as Nifty.
