Zergrinch
Puny door can't beat Zerris! Zerris strongest one there is! Zerris sniffs around the entrance, trying to catch the scent of anything unusual. Perception, with advantage since it is based on scent: 13. Jeikor
When Myles sees that Zerris has opened the door he calls for Ignaciden. "Get Zozo and get down here with your gear. The door is opened and there is a corridor to explore." Ignaciden nods his understanding, turns and hollers at Zozo's back. "Hey, Zozo! They want us back here. We're going into the pit to explore." Ignaciden gathers his gear and carefully climbs down using the rope.
Zergrinch
Wait what? We're going where? Pit? Oooh, you mean there are twisty little passages in there, looking all alike? Well all right then! Hey, sweet cheeks, let's meet up again sometime, kay? Gotta go save the village or something! *Wink* *Dazzling Smile* Hey, hey, wait up, man! I'm coming, I'm coming! Rilbur
Sorry for the delay! The passage behind the doorway is dark, and looks like it goes in quite a ways. The bear catches a rather unpleasant smell coming out of the area, but can't quite make it out or place it.
Zergrinch
Zerris the bear makes a face, to the extent that brown bears can make expressive faces, and paws at his nose as if to indicate the scent of something unpleasant. The bearthen plus on forward, navigating the darkened passages more by scent than by sight. The slippery warlock, in the meantime, is uncharacteristically quiet as he follows the party through the door. A kind of nervous excitement energizes him enough to palm his spell focus and ready a nasty eldritch blast against the first hostile that ventures into his line of sight. Jeikor
Myles follows Zerris through the door not overly thrilled at not being able to see. He loosens his sword so he can pull it quickly if necessary. Ignaciden falls in beside Zozo and chuckles silently at his anxiousness. Of course Igny is not bothered at all as he can see quite a ways. As he walks he examines the passageway ahead and on each side.
Rilbur
Sixty feet beyond the stone door, the tunnel levels out. Two stone reliefs of stern dwarves in chain mail and carrying battleaxes face each other across the tunnel. The carvings stand out from the passage walls, and they have gaps around them, so they could be doors. The passage continues past them. Zergrinch
Well, dang, I can't see a thing. Hey Ignaciden, go ignite something will ya?
Jeikor
Ignaciden turns to a space no one is in mumbles and gestures creating a 5 ft bonfire in the passage. "Here! Light your torches from this!" Myles seeing the bonfire going rummages in his pack and finds a torch. He brings it to the fire to light it. "Thanks, Ignaciden!" Rilbur
You guys can definitely see the statues now.
Zergrinch
Hey, this's pretty good carving. Looks almost real! I'm gonna try poking it with a stick *pokes statue with a stick*Investigation Check: 2 Edited August 26, 2015 by Zergrinch
Rilbur
Zozo determines that the stone statues sure are stone! And there's a decent sized gap behind them, but they're made of stone!Did he remember to mention they're made of stone?
Zergrinch
Yup, really good masonry! Let's see, is this carved from whole stone, or is it hollow? ELDRITCH BLAST!!!!
Rilbur
Zozo's eldritch blast checks a small piece of stone off the statue.==="Are you trying to be an idiot?" Orsik complains, shaking his head at Zozo. "Those statues are works of art, why are you defacing them!?"
Jeikor
Myles shakes his head as he readies himself to intervene if necessary. Ignaciden snickers hoping the dwarf is able to leave a few marks before the paladin steps in but only a few. The kid's got some impressive magic and he would hate to see Zozo really hurt. Although if the dwarf isn't fast enough it might be the other way around.
Zergrinch
Look where we are, pops! A dark spooky tunnel under a sinkhole! And not a ray of light! It ain't a work of art if nobody can see it none, so it doesn't matter if I mess it up, right? Anyway, let me see *squeezes past the stone dwarf* if the placement is *looks for any hidden entrances* intentional or just a coincidence! Rilbur
There is in fact a tunnel behind each of the dwarves. You can head east down the current tunnel, south past a dwarf, or north past a second dwarf.
Rilbur
Orsik takes a deep breath, then turns away, hand clutching his warhammer tightly.
Jeikor
Myles laid a hand on Orsik's shoulder and whispered, "Remember he's just a kid and has no clue what this means to a dwarf." Then out loud he asks, "Which way should we go? We have three choices." He then uses Divine Sense in each direction to see if there is anything within range.Ignaciden waits patiently to see where they head next occupying himself by creating a new bonfire each time one goes out. Rilbur
Divine sense reveals nothing.
Zergrinch
Hey Ignaciden, watch this! *Casts Create Bonfire at a distance on the Southern tunnel*Sooo, three choices! How's about we split up? I'll take this one with Myles, Zerris can take the other with Ignaciden, and pops can go forward?
Rilbur
"Did you just call me 'pops'?" Orsik growls. "That's almost as unwise a decision as splitting up."
Jeikor
Ignaciden looks at Zozo's bonfire then casts his own as far down the northern tunnel as he can see. "Beat that one, Zozo."Myles begins to wonder what he did to offend the gods that got him stuck with these guys, especially the two kids. Rilbur
The passage to the south seems to go about 20 feet before turning west, growing narrower as it goes. The passage to the south stretches further, twisting a little, but you can see a good sixty feet before it turns to the east. Zergrinch
Alright O-dude, we stick together! Hey, I don't like the looks of this narrow southern tunnel. Let's go with this twisty southern passage!Oh, and Iggy, too easy bro. Too easy. *waves hand, creating new bonfire adjacent to the one already burning, in effect doubling its size* Edited September 1, 2015 by Zergrinch
