The kids are very brave, striking out on their own, and it is to their credit that they realise they need protectors, despite their ability to take care of themselves. The story is very well done and not too implausible. Yes, the boys are a bit too fortunate, but well within our ability to suspend disbelief. It's all delicately handled, and very heartwarming.
