It also does a great job on showing how the war in the US is having a global effect. I was one of many people that helped Ricky research the correct forms of address. What we discovered is there are many rules, etiquette and precedents for Royal address, many are not even written but just assumed. The situation of Arthur is fairly different in that he is King by birth but has not been crowned. According to the many rules, etiquette and precedents we were able to uncover, the correct from of address for Arthur would be "Your Majesty" or "Your Royal Highness" Or "Your Highness" Most people would defer to "Your Majesty" However members of the peerage and foreign dignitaries and heads of state may use the lesser addresses as political point. Some people may be confuse as to which for to use as their hasn't been a Regent Ruler used in the United Kingdom since 1820 when Prince Regent George IV ruled when his father went insane. Joe Posted March 24, 2017 Report Share Posted March 24, 2017 Ken, Meaning no disrespect, but we're talking about the British crown so while there may be "many forms...for Royal address" out there in the world. There aren't "many forms" in the UK. The situation for Arthur is no different than any other British monarch: one minute he was a royal highness, with the death of his parent, he became a majesty. Just like her present Majesty who went to sleep in a tree house as a Royal Highness and awoke a Queen. Additionally, he was never a "highness" always a "royal highness" and the forms of address are not optional and certainly not optional for the British peerage. Anyone who violated the norm would be courteously treated, privately dismissed as a lout, and never invited to return. I'm not exactly sure what the Prince Regent has to do with it. He was "His Royal Highness The Prince Regent" until his father died whereupon he became one of the most unpopular majesties the British ever had. There should be a regent in the UK while His Majesty is gallivanting about. This can be a Council of Regency and need not be a member of the royal family, though this would be unlikely. The hotel managers may be a bit greedy to think of over charging the young king for food. I think they will be put in their place. We see a story about Max that has not been told yet. He has a talent for imagining characters who are struggling to create themselves in a world of conflict, as well as the characters who surround them. In this latest chapter, Ricky presents us with the Queen Regent in a way that conflates her political and social role with that of a mother. He presents advisors—both adult and of the protagonist's age—in ways that are both believable and satisfying. And he wraps all this in a cocoon of the overarching narrative in a way that is eminently believable. (Remember: as fantasy writers, our job is to encourage the reader to suspend disbelief. We also see the past King and present Queen knew more than the young king thought. Looks as if things are heating up not only with Max but on the frontlines of war.
