to Zergrinch - yes, and isn't it too bad you'll have to wait two weeks to see if that feeling persists, LOL.  Not all characters are sweetness and fun, Joy and Light.  Occasionally, you have to dip into that bag of darkside we all carry around..

to Al - I am having great difficulty pronouncing that first word.  Doesn't it mean "rinse out" in French or something?

In all seriousness, I had much trepidation about putting this story out there, because I knew Alex is such a jerk.  But if I toned him down any, or tried to make him likeable, it would not do the story or the character justice.

Yes, well, While Maxy is the kind for that sort of instant karma justice situation, I think you'll find that there are many, many, many ways to screw up your own existence if you play the wrong games with the wrong people.  And sometimes... just sometimes... the evil we do does come back to haunt us.

Our look into the life and times of a modern teenage scoundrel takes a sudden hard right... at high speed... into a brick wall... and no one's wearing a seat belt.  But like the doctor always says just before they jam a needle in you, "This will only hurt a minute.  Juuust a little prick."   Liars!

The Diary of Alex the Great, Blog Excerpt Number Two... is next.

Nope, sorry. Being put in the hospital is not nearly enough karmic justice for me to consider tolerating your latest protagonist. He deserved all of that, and more ~~~

It's a start, mind. But not enough. Still want to see the Feds bust him for producing kiddy porn. Then maybe. Just maybe :)

Just when you think you knew where Alex's journey of self discovery was going, things get a little more... strange.  Does the predator become the prey now that he's immobilized?  The conclusion is ahead, but the end... who knows?

The Diary of Alex the Great, Blog Excerpt Number Three... is next.

Well, for Alex we have some time to wait.  However, happening the same weekend as Alex's attack and recovery are the events in Lost Boys, the last chapters of which are awaiting their time on the stage.  At this point there are three chapters and a rather lengthy codicil, and then those chars will get a rest while i catch up matters with the RIposte boys.  Soon enough, they'll all be appearing together.  More on that later.

Although, as the author, I have to ask: is Alex appealing because of his brutal honesty (ego aside) or do you like that he might have a shot at redemption?

Also, although it wont affect my plans for the character, I wonder what other readers think would be a good pairing for Alex, should he mend his evil ways and not wind up in the pokey?

I like that he has a chance for redemption myself. I would like to see him mend his ways and maybe even end up helping when it all comes together and sh** really hits the fan in Canterbury.

He also needs to work out which of the boys he will be with since he has three that still seem to have feelings for him. That is if they all don't decide to not take the chance.

well, speaking of the oscillating, rotating electrical atmospheric redirection and cooling subservo unit coming into flagrant and violent contact with the post digestive biologically active waste materials...

Let's just say, there's a plan.  it's a kinda hazy, mostly long term plan, but oh yes indeedy Bob, there's a plan.

And some of it involves ice cream with sprinkles!

I received this email from a man named Brian Morrison, and felt it had to be shared.  When I read it, I felt humbled and awed at the same time.  This isn't an author using fan mail for bragging rights.  This is a reminder to all the authors on this site, and those who will eventually post their stories here as well... you never can tell how your work will affect those who read it, either in the depth or direction that effect takes.  I hope this inspires you as it has inspired me.

Hi,

I thought that it was well past time I introduced my self and thanked you for, not just this story, but all the great stories that you have posted.  I have been an avid reader for some time.

Nothing particularly special here, 65yo, retired I.T. database guy, tried to do the “right thing” by family and church and got married to a really great lady whom I told that I thought I was gay, but we tried it anyway.  Have two grown-up girls who have forgiven me for eventually leaving the family and coming out, as has my wife.  Still get on with all of them really well.  Have had my own run-ins with suicide attempts, fortunately none successful.  My younger daughter is helping me by designing a tattoo of a semi-colon to go over the scars  on my wrist, as she is into tatts.  That’s probably more than you ever wanted to know about any of your readers, but I needed to tell you than to tell you that the processes that Alex went through in the third chapter have helped me hugely with the issues of forgiving myself and helping to heal the issues which caused the suicide attempts.

So thank you so very much.  All of your stories are great and I have enjoyed them, but this one was really special and I hope that you will eventually share Alex’s path to redemption and strength.

If ever you need an editor, I would be delighted to do that for you (no charge, of course, nobody makes anything out of writing for sites like this except satisfaction).

Your Devoted Reader,

Brian (from Brisbane, Australia).
