  4. Answers are good, questions are better. Thankfully because this story is quite self contained within the RotW&AotS issues most of what you would want to know should find an answer at some point. As others have have pointed out though I do like to bait them hooks for future issues.
  5. What's the phrase? "It never rains but it pours." Getting two chapters from you in a week is a grand treat! A well earned pause allowing our heroes a chance to reflect on the battle won but also surprisingly a battle lost felt well paced. Loved it! Although Juan isn't out of the woods and Mitch is hardly at peak the chapter has made clear the price of victory. I'm glad the Robbie isn't just going to sit around 'licking his wounds' and am intrigued for the plan that is formulating in his head. Excellent work @D'Artagnon, you do not disappoint. Also do I pick up correctly that there's a seed for a story still to come (or perhaps one I just haven't gotten to yet) in that hospital?
  6. @Jay, he's maddeningly good at what he does isn't he ?
  7. Dude! Nice! Loved the growing admiration of Cody for the fairy boys and Magnus finally and properly coming around (quite the damaged life he and Sven have had - All these vampire hints need either a chapter or their own story at some point - and that's coming from someone who has decidedly had his fill of Vampires - particularly the body glitter in the sunlight kind). As always Nick is very possibly the love of my life, nice to see him get a bit more to do towards the end. Maybe you could give him a spin off series when this is all said done. A PI werewolf in in Hawaii perhaps... OK maybe not that. When Chucky referred to 'Him' he didn't mean Korbesh did he? Did he? There's someone else though right? No don't tell me... wait, just tell me... No. Don't. I'll wait. But it got my heckles up and my head cocked. Also what a cock! I mean, we knew that already... what with him being a murdering rapist and all but there was something in that moment that made me think that you might just kill off Kenny in such a low down crappy way. Probably because it's the sort of thing that I would do. hahahaha. Once again and as always an awesome chapter, and I will wait patiently for the next.
  8. Thank you @Jay, I'm happy that you're still enjoying the story. And don't fear, that question will be answered very soon too.
  9. To the points you've raised @D'Artagnon... I know some questions have been lingering (intentionally) from previous issues relating to the Lion-Turtle and are now confused more by the arrival of the Wolf-Turtle but these will be answered in both vague open ended and firm 'that's the answer you're looking for' ways very very soon. Promise. @Al Norris, maybes yes maybes no. But as above; both firm and vague answers will be winging their way to you sooner rather than later. The thing that you both mention that I had to double check though was the existence of Dragons! Going through both what I had written on my computer and what appeared on CR I was glad to see that I can say, without fear of it coming back to bite me on the arse, that you have both seemingly imagined a dragon turtle. I had a little panic when I read your comments though as when I first started jotting down idea's for this whole thing some many yonks ago the Lion Turtle was indeed a Dragon Turtle. Thankfully that term only exists in a notebook in a drawer by my bed. So unless you've both been sneaking into my room while I sleep I can only put it down to a shared hallucination. The two previous mentions were:
  10. Glad you liked Alka. I like Alka too. Hmmmmmm... she may have to crop up again in another story sometime. The oils could be connected... or they could not... The ring? If it was his to give in the first place would that make Christian one of the good guys? Or maybe just one of the not so very bad guys? Or is it a ruse? Questions questions questions... just as you started getting some answers too...
  11. Ah... apologies. I thought I had sucked the mystery out of that little question. But yes, clues and theories about the rest are all that are left now. Will be interesting to hear how readers theories match up with the eventual outcome.
  12. Thanks @Jay . We'll see what she has to say in the next chapter. With any luck Quaid will find some of the answers that he's looking for. @D'Artagnon and @Al Norris As alluded to by Christian in chapter 7, they are indeed they are the same seeds that were spirited away from the island by young Kibu in 'Welcome to Halpin Hope.' But what use are seeds that can't grow into usable plants?
  13. @Al Norris I'm glad you wanna throttle him as it means that he's serving his purpose in the story so far. Keeping him combative without being overly aggressive has given cause for a few rewrites of his dialogue here and there. Occasionally I'll write a line or two of his dialogue and think it's fine until I re-read it a couple of days later and then just think "Dude! You're just being a dick now." His attitude in these dialogues is based off of a former boss of mine. How he survived without someone throttling him I'll never know as that pretty much seemed to be his default banter. @D'Artagnon When you find out who he is I'll be interested to know if your theory panned out.
  14. Thank you @Jay I'm really glad that you're still enjoying the story. And thank you @D'Artagnon. High praise indeed from yourself and I'm very grateful for it, so thank you again. You make a good point about the 'Britishisms' and I did toy with the idea of swapping out my spell check for a US one but the misspellings that it produces (and they are misspellings. Your nations continued bastardization of the language cannot go unchecked! hahaha) offended my eyes so much that I just couldn't do it. (I really am joking but it did look very odd). There are other things too. Simple bits that I try and catch like trunk for the book of a car, plaid for check, undershirt for vest and vest for waistcoat and on and on. I hope that I catch most of them but a few are bound to slip through. Maybe I need an American editor. haha.
