  1. Drummer Boy 3 - Mir Pacifica Well done Arthur, Thomas is in your blood and we look forward to his many adventures at sea. Now that Roger Scully will join the Brotherhood there will be an even better relationship between him and Thomas and the Morgans. Cannot wait for the next chapter.
  2. Wishing you a very happy birthday.

  3. Arthur my original was too, I also am not as young as the posts appear.
  4. Wolf, I am sure that will emerge in book three ( it will come). I am just reading back through some chapters and I has just gotten to where Thomas asked the Prince if he had a spy in his camp.
  5. Arthur, as RNZEME you should know that the REME can get things done even if it takes toll on ones brain and muscles. We can wait until all the stories that are busting to get out of your head are finished, and will all look forward to even a 10 chapter( or more) conclusion of Thomas's adventures at sea. Your loyal subjects will wait until you are well rested and readily wait whatever you are planning next.Remember Arte et Marte means by skill and by fighting . Enjoy the pics REME is 75 years old in 2017.
  6. As I hit the refresh this morning, there it was in THAT BLACK BOX the one word COMPLETED . We all knew that it was close, now Arthur there is a long time until Xmas and that should give you time to complete book 3 The Drummer Boy Adventures at Sea. With five " new stories" waiting we will look forward to seeing what is waiting for us in anticipation of some more wonderful tales of adventure and tears. Some information on Thomas's friend the Prince:- Pedro de Alcántara Téllez-Girón y Alfonso-Pimentel (1786–1851), better known as the Prince of Anglona, was a Spanish military officer during the Peninsular War and, briefly, Captain General of Cuba (from 7 March 1841 to 13 September 1843). Just maybe Thomas saw him in CUBA on his sailing adventures( hint, hint Arthur)
  7. As you said Arthur, you can be finished by Christmas. It is only coming up to June so you still have almost 6 Months to complete Book 3 and complete Book 2 as well. By the way LOKI was with me last night and we both have the same kind of humor Take all the time you need Arthur, ALL the guys here understand that it takes you some time to research the plots for your awesome story lines.
  8. WOW, Arthur you have done it again ! Chapter 22 brought even more tears, maybe that was the delay Arthur you were so overcome that you had to settle down before posting this chapter. Looking forward to Chapter 23 no matter how long it takes.
  9. Well it looks like LOKI or the politicians have done their best to stop chapter 22. I hope that Arthur is well and that this is really Friday, looks like the Chivas will be out when I get back from work. Maybe there were more storms, anyway I will wish All on here good health and a happy Friday. Arthur will post chapter 22 when he is ready to so we can all look forward to the Parade and what the guys are going to do when Roger Scully turns up to watch it.
  10. Dear Arthur, Once again you have brought tears to my eyes, Roger Scully ALIVE ! It was bad enough when Thomas was told at the ball of his friends demise, young Sergeant Fairley will I am sure be most happy to learn that his old Boss is alive as well as Craven Morgan. There are going to be some very important guests at the final parade that the guys do not want Thomas to know about , that I am sure of. I am still waiting to see who the Princes spy in the camp is Arthur. I, as well as all here am not looking to the end of Thomas's adventures just yet. Better get busy with Book 3 Arthur
  11. I can see Thomas and his friends turn the " backstabbing" into an opportunity that will be even more than even the Prince can imagine. With a further 10 ships at Marking Shipping Company's disposal, and Carmelo wishing to travel with Thomas there are further adventures to come I am sure.
  12. Well it's that time of week again, I have to get up even earlier on Friday mornings to read the next enthralling Chapter of Thomas and his Friends. That is if LOKI and the Herrings will allow Arthur to complete it in time, I just love Friday mornings . And if there is a problem ( LOKI and God forbid) I have a new bottle of Chivas to open and more beer
  13. Yes Arthur, been there done that ! And this year it is the 75th Anniversary of the founding of The Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers. I have my 50th Anniversary tie and two Gold and one Silver Medal from the same time (showing my age- 1972 I joined up). It really is a small world in the REME, however when I joined up it was the largest Corps in the British Army, over 140,000 strong- now the entire British Armed Forces are not that large We used to say "Work like a horse, all over the world, always chained to the job and work as fast as lightning" there are other themes on the same lines as you wrote above. The only posting I had to a Wksp was when I went to close down 5 Field Wksps ready to move them back to UK. After that I went to the The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers and Greys) (SCOTS DG) just as they were getting back from the Gulf War with their Challenger 2's. I spent it in Canada in the freezing cold, after I had told my boss that they were going to War and that he would struggle to get me back, sure as herrings are fish that is exactly what happened. I was the NBC Instructor and also the Range manager, boy was he really pissed as I told him that I would not get on the flight if he really wanted me to stay and he said go we will get you back.
  14. SussexBoi, as ex REME I have served with some of the Regiments actually mentioned in some of the chapters (after many mergers over time). One of them to which I was attached 3 times was the 13/18 Royal Hussars ( QMO), they had an assortment of "captured" ( LOOTED) in all three of the Messes from various Battles over the centuries. Another was The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers and Greys) (SCOTS DG) of Amazing Grace fame. The Eagle itself is an impression of the Imperial Eagle, carried by the French troops during the Napoleonic War. The Royal Scots Greys captured the Eagle of the 45th Regiment at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, Their name derives from the short barrelled carbines that the troopers used to carry on horseback – which can be seen behind the eagle on the cap-badge today.
  15. Jeikor, I have just finished reading From Trick to Treat: I mean ALL the chapters, looking forward to the next one in book two.
