  1. Well for myself, to have Drummer Boy published was something I dreaded as i did not have the technical training to carry it forward. Now when i mentioned all this to the Admin boffins (Al) he suggested I talk with the big boss and so we now have the first volume published with the second following in the next few days. Was I happy with the results of the first volume? Undeniably YES; in fact David far exceeded my expectations and both versions came out better than i thought they would. Yes there have been a few minor alterations i wished to now do but that was all my fault for not fully understanding what David required but both the paperback version and the Kindle version have so far been well received and it is only due to David taking up the sword on my behalf that any of this was accomplished; hey even I bought a copy and am happy with it (even though the postage cost more than the book but that's the price we pay for living in paradise; also soon to be called the 51st state) I have to agree with some of the comments above, there are many fine stories and authors on the castle and they deserve a wider audience so get onto David and make his life a misery and get those good stories published. None of this has cost me a cent apart from what i would have donated anyway and except for deciding to pay for the Amazon advertising which has already been recovered by the extra sales there is not cost to find out if you have the right stuff. What has also occurred to me is that if your story holds up without the over use of any sexual pornography then it is publishable to the wider readership; it is for this reason that Drummer Boy had only the faintest of suggestion of anything a little risque for the characters which made it far easier to put it into print even though i did get a few emails about the lack of grunt and groan but now it was all worth it for publishing reasons. Hope this helps any of you that are sitting on the fence; personally there a some really great stories that should be told and printed and sitting on the fence only gets barbed wire stuck up your ass.

Royboi, Here across the ditch it is spelt the same but I changed this so the Muricans can understand the language; don't worry it is done right in Drummer Boy. A
  3. RO8M, Thanks for the memories, mine was the old silver and gold, the plain silver is the new one so you may be able to guess how bloody old I really am, but hey! we build where others destroy. To answer the ever masterful Moderator; what can I say but I hope this gives you an idea Will there be a book three to answer all the red herrings I have laid? Hmmmm. Who is the Spy? hehehe take a guess! but it is not who you think it is. Again my thanks to you all and I hope you like the new story when it is posted some time in the future; as Al knows I like to have a few chapters under my belt before posting as a safety net. Again thanks to you all. A
  4. RO8M, Thank you for answering my biggest question, now I know why my shoulder is aching; it seems to have a lot to do with the way my arm is being twisted behind my back "ouch" I know that at some time the pressure to return to the story will get under my skin and I will relent and tell more but for now I need the break away so I can get to work on some of the other stuff I have rattling around in the space where my brain used to be; until then my thanks to you all for your generosity and following. A

Hmmm, werewolves? are they those hairy doggy thingy's with big teeth? I don't remember them being around during the 15th century, must have missed them in my travels; I'll ask Merlin next time we chat.
  6. Thank you all for your kind words and I am glad that the emotional side was picked up by you all as it also affected me when I was writing it. I do however have to apologise for ending the story at chapter 20 as...Oh I mean chapter 21...no, no, no, it was ended at chapter 22...wasn't it? Wait why have I got a page here that says Chapter 23? Al this is all your fault, you promised I could be finished before Xmas. I am sending Loki to speak with you. A
  7. Sussexboi, Thank you for your concern and you may be quite correct I am a little weary and it is getting harder all the time to keep the tale going even though I do not want to disappoint the many readers; however I have now been working on this story for nearly two years since the first chapter developed so yes my brain is getting a bit fogged down. I do plan to leave the ending a little open in case I want to return to Thomas and his mob at a later date but for now I have five other story ideas waiting in the wings that I may look to first. Of course everyone knows that Drummer Boy was originally designed for ten chapters and you all know how that turned out so it has stretched my limits somewhat. I do hope you enjoy the ending when it arrives and perhaps you will keep a small place empty for my next foray into the story world. A
  8. R08m4rv, Now there is a strange coincidence, when doing my own service I was in the 2nf wksps RNZEME, seems I was a little of a bad boy because I always got the job of tail end Charlie which of course as you would know, put me late for dinner every night and then got sworn at for making too much noise with my Land Rover when I drove into camp late. Onward, onward the silver unicorn, through mud and dust, sea and sky, gold chains unbound and freedom reigns where lightening strikes this world does bow to the hand of man A
  9. Wolflover, Wow did I cause all this distress? I must be getting better. Yes you may have to wait another week (or two) but all your questions will be answered eventually even though I did manage at last to get three fish in one barrel, to rest your mind a little until chapt. 20 Snot and Maketja are having a little canoodle in the bushes while no one is watching, the wagons are or could be a distraction from the true theme but then Loki would never mislead you (would he?) A
  10. Sgt, Sorry to burst your bubble but Thomas , Percy and the others were drinking Dow's 1783 Vintage (ruby port). Tawny Port was found by accident at a later date when they had to use some French barrels from the province of Armagnac and by accident they did not clean the barrels first and so had a mixture of cognac left in the barrels when the port wine was put in for aging and it leeched from the wood to give the port the tawny colour and the smoky wood flavour as well as fortifying it which is why tawny port is called a fortified wine. Now lets see if that gets the pigeons up in the air before chapter 19 hits the air waves (oops is that radio?)
  11. Hey guys! guess what? IT'S Thursday Pizza for dinner (with anchovies, I'm short on herrings)
  12. Thank you again guys for your patience, chapter 18 needed some special work and research so, along with three storms in one week here at home and waiting for the lashes on my back to heal after being given the whip for being late, I promise to have chapter 18 out this week. I can give you a hint of what's to come, Snot is going to get pissed, all the herring barrels are empty and Thomas is going to get married (not). Hope this all helps. A
  13. Wolflover, Perhaps there is something fishy about Colonel Grey's statement to his son one never can tell when a line and hook has been dispatched but no bait added. A
  14. Tinker, As good as I am and with all my experience of tossing herrings, even I cannot beat that one; do you want a job as my ghost writer and clapping coach?
  15. You guys know that I'm a fishing fanatic, don't you?
