Dickinson, who as I understand is a prolific author on the Nifty Archives. The story is set in the 15th Century Europe, largely based on historical events. By the way he ended the story, it appeared there is sufficient room for a book 2, where 16 year old Nicolai accompanies a famous Portuguese explorer westward. I really liked the way the author was able to weave in actual historical events and personages into the narrative. Some accounts of the debauchery happening in the upper echelons of the Catholic Church may be somewhat unbelievable, so those with religious or moral sensitivities about underage sex should best steer clear.
